The private pilot's licence (PPL) enables you to pilot an aircraft and to transport, without payment, your friends, family or business relations. As soon as you have obtained it, you can then rent or own your plane and travel without restrictions.

Your PPL (A) training course in detail

Like the training for taking a driving test, the private pilot licence (PPL)
consists of a theoretical part and a practical part carried out in parallel, each one endorsed by an examination.

The training for the preparation of the theory exam is composed of 6 sessions and carried out by videoconference or on site in a group course.

theoretical knowledge

You will participate in an applied theory course, essential to your practical training, and discover your training aircraft as well as the basic piloting skills necessary for the general mastery of the main phases of a flight: level flight, climb, descent and turns.

49 hours and 30 minutes of applied theory (by videoconference or on site)

9 hours of flight instruction on single engine aircraft

Stage 2

Advanced piloting

You will develop your skills by integrating radio communications and perfect your piloting. You will learn to find your bearings in the airspace and to navigate autonomously around your aerodrome.

7 hours of flight instruction on a single-engine aircraft

Stage 3

Blind flight

Thanks to the realism of a certified simulator, you will discover the environment of a blind flight as well as the associated procedures allowing you to get out of an unusual situation.

5 hours of flight instruction on the FNPTII simulator

Stage 4

Basic navigation
Manoeuvrability and runway circuits

You will discover the basics of dead reckoning navigation and make your first solo flights as captain.

5 hours and 20 minutes of flight instruction on single engine aircraft

2 hours and 20 minutes of solo flight on single engine aircraft

Stage 5

Advanced navigation

You will perfect your working methods on board and carry out increasingly complex navigations including a solo flight of 150 Nm.

6 hours and 55 minutes of flight instruction on single engine aircraft

7 hours and 40 minutes of solo flight on single engine aircraft

Stage 6

Preparation for the exam

In order to be prepared for the r a training flight in an exam situation. This is the last step before obtaining your PPL (A) Private Pilot Licence.

    FAQ: Private Pilot Training

    There is no set age for starting to pilot an aircraft, but you cannot fly alone until you are 16 years old. The youngest pilots start their training at around 15 years old.
